What to Look for When Choosing an Auto Body Shop

Automotive body shop

Did you know that half of all cars driven in 1916 were Ford Model Ts? Or that a 1901 to 1906 Oldsmobile had just one cylinder and three horsepower? Even the car radio was not invented until 1929. While cars have had a long history, so have car repairs. Unfortunately, it can be easy for your car to get scratches, dents, and other serious body damage. When your car needs an auto body repair shop, it is important to choose one you can trust. By following these tips, you can find the best auto body shop for your car.

1. Find online reviews and recommendations. The internet can not only help you find local body shops, but it can also provide you with reviews on tthem as well. In addition, you can also ask family and friends for recommendations. The best auto body shop will have loyal customers who can say with confidence that their cars were repaired completely.

2. Always find out the prices that different automotive body shops will charge. While you may need an estimate for precise pricing, discovering the labor rates of each shop can also give you a roundabout number. Even though your insurance may provide an estimate, it is also important to ask the body repair shops if they work off your insurance estimate, or if they use their own estimates to charge you.

3. Know what your car needs. If you know exactly what work needs to be done on your car, it can help you determine if the mechanic is qualified enough to work on it. If the mechanic tries telling you he needs to do additional work without any explanation why, red flags should start going up. The best auto body shop, however, will know exactly what to do to fix your car and will not try to sell you any additional, unnecessary work.

Even though laws in Switzerland prevent people from slamming car doors, there are also laws around the world that try to keep people safe in their cars. Unfortunately, two million adults and passengers require emergency room treatment every year because of car accidents. If you are in an accident and need the body of your car repaired, you may need to visit an auto repair shop. By following these tips, you can not only find the best auto body shop, but you can also get your car back on the road sooner. References: collisionmiami.com

Yes, unfortunately there are some bad shops out there, but there are also some really good ones too. My best advice would be to decide based on word of mouth. There is nothing better than a review or recommendation from another person.
